Minty Mondays: Matching Heels and Sneaks

Spring is finally here and what better way to celebrate then freshening up your wardrobe with some pastel mint vibes.

Going to work 5 days a week you can get stuck in the same rotation of grey and black making you feel like winter is still in your wardrobe. Time to shake it up and bring some fresh colour into you repertoire. Adidas stan smiths have brought out a fresh new range of pastel sneakers ranging from frozen green to pastel pink. Intricate details and a cool finish these are an excellent addition to put a spring in your step and spring into your wardrobe.

Changing from sneakers to heels is made easy when you stick to the same colours as you know it will match.

My ASOS mint heels add a simple yet effective insert of colour into my black suit. If you are like me and your wardrobe is a mix of monochrome then brightening up for the seasons can be simply left to your accessories.

Matching your sneaks to your heels means you can dash about town to all your meetings, commute without damaging your knees, get in the car easily while placing your heels in your bag and transition from boardroom coffees to girls and cocktails without having to dash home to change.

Its all about using your precious time effectively and not feeling a pack horse every time you know you’re meeting friends after work.

We are busy ladies these days. Managing your time effectively so you can be the best #GIRLBOSS while also balancing out that time for social and relaxation.

Keep it fresh this spring and treat yourself to some matching heels and sneaks! Go on… you deserve it!

Kicks to Clicks – Work-wear Style that protects your Greatest Assets

IMG_3542[1]Hands up who wears heels to work?

High Heels are amazing! I have a whole bed (yes the one in the picture above) filled underneath from Choos to Louboutins, New Look to Asos. They elongate your legs, give your bottom an incredible work out and make you feel absolutely fabulous!

However

When you’re on the move throughout the day or have to travel for work like I do…High Heels can be a nightmare! They put a lot of strain on those knees or yours and your feet in general. Not to mention the stairs, escalators and cobbled streets you have to navigate on the way.

 No pain no gain?

I have heard this before… and believe me I can run 100m in 5inch heels just as fast as I can in trainers… but does this mean I am going to? Varying up your shoes throughout the day protects one of the most useful pair of assets we have – our legs.

When we were heels we change the pressure on our feet to just the balls and our delicate toe bones.

We change our natural walk to a sassy strut – but over a prolonged period of time this can damage our nerves

It shortens your calf muscles and over time this can make it painful when wearing flats

Knees – our natural shock absorbers get a hammering – which could lead to osteoporosis

Woah that sounds terrible!

Well its not all bad! There are some benefits to those sexy stilettos

They make you feel taller and slimmer and therefore can boost confidence on those days where you may feel a little low. This in turn will make you feel more at ease and less stressed. Thus reducing the amount of cortisol in your body… the stress hormone which is sometimes linked to weight gain!

Super sexy strong calf muscles

A general leg workout when wearing them

Moral of the story

So… going forward! When you get ready in the morning pack your heels in that hand bag of your and wear your kicks for the commute.

Today’s Stiletto H&M Style

h&m

Today I am wearing one of my comfiest high heels – these little black numbers are from H&M and have the ability to dress up even a simple Tee and black trouser look for work.

The sun is out in London Town so the a little peep toe is nice to show a little bit of flesh in the month of April. They are this season so head online or to your local H&M to try on a pair. They look  higher than they are which adds height and also length to your legs.

I find heels can always dress up a casual outfit to make it business casual.

New week with new goals – I have two holidays coming up so hoping to save some money but also work towards that bikini body!

Have a wonderful start to the week.

Today’s Office – Back to work x

After a beautifully long festive break this week its all back to work. Swapping my comfy’s for work gear was a change as I have grown quite fond of my sweater and sneaker combination this rainy Christmas.

Here’s my little guide to keeping the festive comfort while still dressing to impress at work:

  1. Heels – heels transform any outfit from casual to smart. if like me you walk to work – pack them in your handbag and wear flats. Walking in heels for a long distance is not good for you and will cause pain later in the day from tired feet
  2. Blazer – today I am wearing plain black trousers with a long sleeved top but the white blazer on top sends a message that I am ready, willing and able to own this day
  3. Accessorize – worn with the right accessories you can make the comfiest of casual outfits work ready within seconds. ZARA, New Look, Top Shop and Primark offer amazing jewelry that low price and means you can change it up frequently without breaking the bank

Hope all of you are enjoying your first day back – apologies if you went back to work last week! I am super excited as breaking in my brand new Jimmy Choos today! http://www.net-a-porter.com/gb/en/product/401443?cm_mmc=ProductSearch-_-gb-_-Pumps-_-Abel&gclid=CKiA0MTY6bsCFQjlwgodQ3IA5Q Delicious!
